Sanmiao Map Poster & Print
Sanmiao is a town in Chongqing municipality, set in the hilly country of the eastern Sichuan Basin. The landscape here is a patchwork of low rounded hills and narrow valleys, and the map follows it closely: roads bend with the contours, and houses cluster along them in small groups rather than filling a regular grid.
Much of the surrounding land is farmed, and the hillsides are shaped into terraces and paddy fields that follow the slopes in curving bands. Small streams, ponds and reservoirs appear throughout, adding water to the countryside, and the town's central streets form a compact knot where the main routes converge on lower ground.
