Sant'Anastasia sits on the northern flank of the Somma-Vesuvius complex, east of Naples. From above, the town looks like a gently tilted plane. Streets run downhill from the edge of the volcanic slope toward the flat Campanian plain, and the built-up area gets denser the lower it goes. Higher up, the grid breaks into scattered lanes, terraces and cultivated plots that lead toward the national park.
The town is best known for the Santuario della Madonna dell'Arco, a pilgrimage church in the district of the same name that draws large processions every spring. On a map, the sanctuary district reads as its own small centre, joined to the older core by through roads. Around both, the fabric merges with neighbouring towns in the continuous settlement belt that rings Vesuvius.
A Sant'Anastasia map poster captures the contrast between two landscapes: a tight, busy lower town and an open upper edge where the lines give way to the mountain. In monochrome, the slope shows through the direction of the streets rather than through shading, because nearly every road either climbs toward Somma or runs across its contours.
The town rises onto the northern side of Monte Somma, the older rim of Vesuvius, so its streets fan uphill and end at the edge of the protected park land.
The pilgrimage sanctuary gives its name to a whole district, which forms a second focal point on the map, separate from the historic centre and linked to it by main roads.
On the downhill side, Sant'Anastasia joins its neighbours with almost no gap, part of the dense ring of towns that surrounds the volcano on the Campanian plain.

Koteā ko Sant'Anastasia
For people from Sant'Anastasia or families who left Campania, this map holds home and the mountain on a single sheet. It also suits anyone who has walked in the Madonna dell'Arco procession and wants a quiet reminder of the town around it.
You can change the title and subtitle, for example to a family name or a year, and edit the coordinates line. The poster comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand works especially well with the warm tones of volcanic country.
