Te mapa
Sehwan, often called Sehwan Sharif, is a town in the Jamshoro district of Sindh, Pakistan. It lies on the west bank of the Indus, where the river plain narrows between the water and the dry hills to the west. It is one of the oldest settlements in the region and has been a place of pilgrimage for centuries.
The town is best known for the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, the thirteenth-century Sufi saint whose tomb draws large crowds, especially during the annual urs. On a map the old town appears as a dense, irregular tangle of lanes around the shrine, very different from planned grids, with the Indus and its channels to the east.
A Sehwan map poster captures that setting: the compact old quarter, the broad river and the edge of the hills. West of the town lies Manchar Lake, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Pakistan, and the network of canals and embankments around it adds long, deliberate lines to an otherwise organic composition.

The Indus runs along the eastern side of the town, a broad band that dominates the map and explains why Sehwan has been settled for so long.
To the west, canals and embankments lead toward Manchar Lake, adding straight engineered lines across the plain between the town and the hills.

Koteā ko Sehwan
For pilgrims and for families from Sindh, Sehwan carries a meaning that goes well beyond geography. A quiet map of its lanes and river marks a journey, a vow or a family connection.
