Te mapa
Seraing lies on the Meuse just upstream of Liège, in the Belgian province of Liège. Its map follows the river: a strip of industrial land, rail lines and roads along the water, and residential streets climbing the slopes of the valley behind. Bridges cross the Meuse at intervals, tying Seraing to the towns on the opposite bank.
The town is closely linked with the industrial history of Wallonia. In 1817 John Cockerill set up ironworks in the former prince-bishops' château here, and heavy industry shaped Seraing for the following two centuries. The riverside still shows the large rectangular footprints of works and yards, while the hillsides hold tighter streets of workers' housing.
Seraing is also home to the Val Saint-Lambert crystal works, a well-known name in Belgian glassmaking. A Seraing map poster captures this layered valley, with the curving river, the heavy riverside blocks and the finer hillside grid all visible in one frame.
The river bends through the town, lined by rail tracks, roads and industrial land, forming the strongest and most recognisable shape on the map.
Large industrial footprints along the water trace back to the ironworks founded by John Cockerill in 1817, a key site in Belgium's industrial story.
Residential streets climb the hillsides above the river in winding lines, giving the map a dense, textured edge away from the water.

Koteā ko Seraing
Seraing is a town with a strong identity, built on work, steel and the river. A map of the Meuse valley here can honour a family that worked in the mills, or simply a person who grew up on the hillside.
