Te mapa
Sidon lies on the Mediterranean coast south of Beirut, and from above old and new sit side by side. The historic core is right on the shore, a tight tangle of lanes and covered souks, while newer streets spread inland and along the coast in wider, straighter lines. Just offshore, the Sea Castle stands on a small island joined to the land by a stone causeway.
The city is one of the oldest in the Phoenician world and was a trading port long before classical times. The Crusaders built the Sea Castle in the thirteenth century, and the old town still holds khans, mosques and a traditional soap workshop that is now a museum. Citrus and banana groves stretch across the coastal plain toward the hills around the city.
A Sidon map poster keeps the essential shapes: the harbour and its small castle island, the dense knot of the old city, the coastal road running north and south, and the looser grid of the modern districts behind. In black and white the coastline becomes a single confident line, with the city's long history packed tightly against it.
The Crusader fortress sits on a tiny island just offshore, reached by a narrow causeway. It is a small but unmistakable detail at the edge of the map.
Behind the waterfront, the historic city forms a dense cluster of winding lanes and covered markets, the most intricate area on the poster.
Inland, the streets thin out among orchards and groves across the flat plain, fading toward the foothills that rise to the east.

For Lebanese families from the south, and for anyone who has walked the souks or crossed to the Sea Castle, this map is a quiet reminder of a very old city. Its coastline and old core form a clear, strong image.
