Te mapa
Sierra Vista lies in the high desert of southeastern Arizona, on the eastern side of the Huachuca Mountains and not far from the Mexican border. The map shows a city of wide arterial roads and suburban blocks, spreading across gently sloping ground from the foothills toward the San Pedro valley. To the west, the large grounds of Fort Huachuca take up a big part of the frame.
The city grew around Fort Huachuca, a US Army post founded in 1877, and the base is still central to local life. Sierra Vista is also known as the Hummingbird Capital of the United States, because the canyons of the Huachucas attract a wide variety of hummingbird species each year.
A Sierra Vista map poster reflects that setting: a mostly regular grid of streets and cul-de-sacs, long roads leading to the fort and the mountains, and open desert around the edges. The combination of suburban pattern and empty land gives the print a clean, spacious look.
The army post occupies a large area on the western side of the city, with its own road network extending toward the mountain canyons.
Wide main roads divide Sierra Vista into large sections, each filled with residential streets and curving cul-de-sacs typical of southwestern growth.
The city stops at the foot of the Huachuca Mountains, where streets give way to canyons and open slopes, marking a sharp edge on the map.

Koteā ko Sierra Vista
Many people pass through Sierra Vista during military service, and a map of the city makes a meaningful keepsake of those years. It also appeals to birdwatchers and hikers who have spent time in the canyons of the Huachucas.
