Te mapa
Sitiawan lies in the Manjung district of Perak, a short distance inland from the Strait of Malacca coast. From above, it is a modest town centre surrounded by a loose spread of villages, plantations and estates. Main roads connect it with the port town of Lumut and the ferry to Pangkor Island.
The town is known for its Foochow community. Settlers from Fuzhou arrived in the early twentieth century, and their heritage still shapes local food, churches and street life. That history appears on the map in the scattered settlements around the centre, which grew out of former farming villages.
A Sitiawan map poster shows a pattern that is less about a single grid and more about many small clusters joined by long roads. In black and white, the clusters appear as darker islands of streets, while the open spaces between them show the agricultural land they grew from.
The main route towards Lumut and the coast forms a clear axis on the map, linking the town with the port and the ferry crossing to Pangkor Island.
Outside the centre, small groups of streets are separated by open land. On the poster they form a scattered, distinctive pattern rather than one continuous grid.
Sitiawan sits on flat land near the strait, so roads run long and fairly straight, with river channels and wetlands appearing towards the coast.

Koteā ko Sitiawan
For families with Foochow roots or anyone who grew up in Manjung, Sitiawan's scattered villages and roads are deeply familiar. A map poster keeps that geography visible in an understated way.
Add a title and subtitle, a year, a village name or a family name, and adjust the coordinates line. Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand each give the map a different character.
