Te mapa
Tecamachalco lies in the valley of the same name in central Puebla, southeast of the state capital. On a map the center follows the regular colonial pattern common in Mexico. Streets run in a grid from the main square, and the large convent complex occupies an entire block near the heart of town. Newer neighborhoods extend the grid outward toward the fields.
The town's best-known monument is the sixteenth-century Franciscan convent. Beneath its choir are painted panels attributed to Juan Gerson, an indigenous artist, and they are among the notable examples of early colonial painting in Mexico. On a street map, the convent and its atrium are a large open rectangle within the dense blocks.
A Tecamachalco map poster shows how orderly colonial planning meets the open agricultural valley. Farm roads and irrigation lines divide the surrounding land into long parcels. Mountains frame the wider region, and the highway toward Puebla and Tehuacán passes nearby. In print, the tight central grid and the long rural lines make a composition with a clear center.

The sixteenth-century convent and its atrium fill a large block near the center. On the map, this open rectangle anchors the grid.
Around the town, fields and farm roads stretch across the Tecamachalco valley. They form long parallel lines that frame the urban core.
