Te mapa
Timizart is a commune in the hills of Tizi Ouzou province, in the Great Kabylie region of northern Algeria. From above it has no single urban centre. It is a group of villages spread across ridges and spurs, which is typical of the region. Houses gather along the crests, and the slopes below them are left to olive groves, fields and scrub.
The roads explain the whole layout. They cannot run straight, so they wind along the contours, double back on hairpin bends and climb from one village to the next. On a map they look like thin lines threaded through the hills. The valleys between them stay mostly empty, cut by streams that run down towards the lower land of the Sebaou basin.
A Timizart map poster does not show a street grid. It shows a landscape: settlements on high ground, the narrow roads that link them, and the gaps where the land drops away. It suits people whose family roots are in these villages, where the location of each house still says something about the ridge it stands on.
The houses cluster along ridges and spurs rather than in the valleys. The result is a chain of small, separate settlements across the hills.
The roads follow the shape of the hills, with frequent bends and switchbacks. They form a loose network of curving lines between the villages.
Between the ridges, stream valleys stay mostly unbuilt and appear as quiet spaces on the map. They show how steep and folded the land is.

Koteā ko Timizart
Many families from Kabylie now live far from their home villages. For them, a map of Timizart can show exactly where their village sits, on which ridge and along which road. It makes a personal keepsake and a thoughtful gift.
You can personalise the title and subtitle with a village name, a family name or a date, and edit the coordinates line. There are five styles to choose from: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
