Te mapa
Tualatin lies south of Portland, at the edge of the Willamette Valley, and its map is shaped by water and highways. The Tualatin River winds along the north side of the city in slow loops, lined with parks and green space, while Interstate 5 runs along the east and meets Interstate 205 nearby. Between them, suburban streets curve in the loops and cul-de-sacs typical of the Portland area.
At the heart of the city is Tualatin Commons, a public square set around a small artificial lake, which gives the map an unusual watery centre. Tualatin is also known for the Ice Age mastodon skeleton found within its limits, now on display in the public library, a reminder that the valley floor here was once shaped by the great Missoula floods.
A Tualatin map poster balances natural and engineered lines: the meandering river, the straight highway corridors and the looping residential streets in between. In black and white these layers read clearly, and the small lake at the centre gives the composition a quiet focal point.

A small artificial lake sits at the centre of Tualatin Commons, an unusual civic centrepiece that stands out clearly on the map.
I-5 and I-205 meet close to the city, their wide, sweeping ramps forming the strongest geometric lines anywhere in the frame.
