Turek Map Poster & Print
Turek is in the eastern part of Greater Poland, in flat, open country between Poznań and Łódź. On the map, a small historic centre with a market square sits at the heart of the town. Around it are later housing estates with their regular blocks, and main roads lead out across the plain.
The town has two well-known industrial traditions. It was historically a weaving and textile town, and in the twentieth century the region was shaped by lignite mining and a large power station nearby. Mining changes the land on a large scale, and this shows on the wider map as unusual, geometric forms outside the town.

Beyond the centre, post-war estates form regular blocks with open space between them. Their geometry contrasts with the smaller streets of the old town.
