Te mapa
Vandalūr lies on the southern edge of the Chennai metropolitan area in Tamil Nadu, where the city's growth meets scrub forest and low rocky hills. From above, it is defined by its roads: the Grand Southern Trunk Road runs through it toward Chengalpattu, and the Outer Ring Road begins nearby, sweeping around the western side of the city.
Vandalūr is best known for the Arignar Anna Zoological Park, one of the largest zoos in India, whose extensive grounds of forest and enclosures take up a large green area on the map. Around it, residential layouts, railway lines and new developments fill the land between the highways, reflecting the rapid expansion of Chennai's southern suburbs.
A Vandalūr map poster shows a place in transition. The strong lines of the highways and rail line cut through the frame, while the zoo and the wooded hills leave large open shapes. Newer neighbourhoods add dense patches of streets. It is a map of movement and growth, fitting for anyone who lives or works along this corridor.

The Grand Southern Trunk Road and the suburban railway run side by side through Vandalūr, drawing strong parallel lines from the city toward the south.
Chennai's Outer Ring Road starts near Vandalūr and sends a wide, curving line around the west of the city, a modern arc marking the edge of the metropolis.
