Te mapa
Villa Rica lies in the north of Cauca Department, where the Cauca River valley opens into a wide, level plain between the Andean ranges. Most of the land around the town is agricultural, and sugarcane dominates. From above, the fields form a patchwork of large rectangles with drainage channels and farm roads running along their edges.
The town is compact, with a regular pattern of streets and blocks. The main roads connect it to neighbouring towns in the valley and to the larger centres of the region. Its community is closely tied to the Afro-Colombian heritage of northern Cauca, and that identity is central to local life and culture.
A Villa Rica map poster shows a town surrounded by the geometry of cultivated land. Streets gather into a small dense centre, and beyond them the fields spread out in long straight lines. The flatness of the valley floor gives the whole composition a calm, level feel that holds up well at larger print sizes.
Large rectangular fields cover the plain around the town. Their straight edges and access roads form a strong pattern on the map.
The town sits on the flat bottom of the Cauca Valley. Without hills to bend them, the roads and field boundaries run long and straight.
Villa Rica's streets form a small, orderly block of houses and plazas that stands out clearly against the open farmland around it.

For people from northern Cauca, and especially for those now living far away, the map is a direct link to home and community. It is understated enough to hang in any room and specific enough to mean something.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, and pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital download includes 300 DPI PNG and PDF files in six sizes, and printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
