Walthamstow Map Poster & Print
Walthamstow is a district in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, in the north-east of the city. Its map is classic Victorian and Edwardian London: row after row of terraced houses in long parallel streets. Many were built after the railway arrived and made it possible to commute into the City. The wide reservoirs of the Lea Valley lie to the west.
The High Street is home to Walthamstow Market, often described as one of the longest outdoor street markets in Europe. Nearby, the old village around St Mary's Church keeps a quieter and much older street pattern. The designer William Morris was born here in 1834, and his family's former home in Lloyd Park is now the William Morris Gallery.

The reservoirs of Walthamstow Wetlands form bold shapes along the western edge, and the Overground and Victoria line meet at Walthamstow Central. The Village
Around St Mary's Church, Walthamstow Village keeps an older, irregular layout of lanes and almshouses. It is a small knot on the map among the orderly Victorian terraces.
Market High Street
Walthamstow's long High Street, home to the famous street market, runs east to west through the district. It is one of the clearest single lines in the dense street grid.
