Września Map Poster & Print
Września is in Greater Poland, east of Poznań, on the main road and rail routes toward Warsaw. It is best known in Polish history for the school strike of 1901, when pupils refused religious instruction in German. The protest drew attention across Europe and became a symbol of resistance to Germanisation.
On the map, the old centre forms a square market with streets running out from each corner in a fairly regular way. The small Września river winds through the town. Newer housing estates, industrial areas and a motorway ring surround the older core, spreading across the flat countryside.
