Te mapa
Zinacatepec lies in the south-east of Puebla, in the Tehuacán valley, a high and fairly dry basin framed by mountain ranges. The town follows the pattern of many Mexican settlements: a regular grid of blocks centred on a main square and church, with streets running in straight lines to the edges of town, where they meet fields and irrigated plots.
The name comes from Nahuatl and is often translated as 'hill of bats', and the town is formally known as San Sebastián Zinacatepec. Agriculture is central here, supported by irrigation practised in the Tehuacán valley for a very long time. Fields, channels and rural roads form a textured patchwork around the compact town.
A Zinacatepec map poster shows the clarity of a colonial-style grid set within a working agricultural landscape. The blocks of the centre repeat evenly, the roads out of town stretch toward neighbouring communities, and the fields add finer detail at the margins. It is a quiet, balanced image with a strong sense of place.

The town sits in a broad valley between mountain ranges. The open surroundings on the map give the compact urban area space to stand out clearly.
Around the town, fields and irrigation channels divide the land into narrow parcels. They add a fine, rhythmic texture to the edges of the composition.
