Olive grove parcels
Large rectangular plots surround the town, repeating the street grid at a bigger scale. They record the olive farming that gives Aimogasta its national reputation.

关于地图
Aimogasta Map Poster & Print
Aimogasta is the seat of the Arauco department in La Rioja province. It sits in arid country in northwestern Argentina, and the land here is farmed only because it is irrigated. From above, the urban area forms a simple, regular grid. Around it lie the neat, repeated blocks of cultivated plots, and beyond them the open, dry terrain of the region.
The town is known as Argentina's national olive capital, and olive growing shapes both its economy and its outline. The department is also home to the Olivo Viejo, a very old olive tree regarded locally as the ancestor of the region's groves. On a map, the orchards read as a patterned field that wraps around the streets.
An Aimogasta map poster shows a place defined by the line between cultivated and uncultivated ground. The town grid is modest and orderly, the farm parcels repeat its geometry at a larger scale, and the few long roads show how far apart settlements are in this part of the Andes foothills.

Regular town grid
The central streets follow a straightforward checkerboard, as in many Argentine provincial towns. In monochrome, the result is calm and legible.
Roads into dry land
A few straight routes leave the town and cross open terrain toward neighbouring settlements. Their length shows how scattered places are across this arid province.

为什么选Aimogasta
一张有意义的地图
For people from La Rioja, or anyone who has driven through the olive country of Arauco, the orderly grid and the groves around it are familiar. The poster is a reminder of home, family roots or a trip through northwestern Argentina.
The title, the subtitle and the coordinates line can all be edited, so you can add a family name, a year or a short line of your own. There are five styles to choose from. Sand and Paper suit the dry landscape, and Classic black & white keeps it plain.
