关于地图
Amarapura Map Poster & Print
Amarapura lies just south of Mandalay, on the flat plain beside the Irrawaddy River. The map shows a loose pattern of streets and villages among water: the river on one side, Taungthaman Lake close to the town, and many smaller channels and ponds. Monasteries and pagodas are spread across the area, often within their own walled compounds.
Amarapura was founded in 1783 by King Bodawpaya as the capital of the Konbaung dynasty. It served as the royal seat twice before Mandalay replaced it in the 1850s. Its best-known feature is U Bein Bridge, a teak footbridge about 1.2 kilometres long, built around 1850 and standing across the lake on hundreds of wooden posts.
An Amarapura map poster captures the thin line of the bridge over open water, the scattered religious compounds, and the small lanes where silk and cotton weaving still goes on in home workshops. In black and white, the wide lake and the fine threads of the streets form a calm, balanced composition.

Taungthaman Lake
The lake forms a broad open area beside the town. Its water level rises and falls with the seasons, shaping the fields and paths around its shore.
Monastery compounds
Pagodas and monasteries appear across the town as rectangular walled precincts. They punctuate the network of lanes with quiet, geometric shapes.
