关于地图
Myingyan Map Poster & Print
Myingyan stands on the east bank of the Irrawaddy in central Myanmar, near where the Chindwin joins the main river. From above, the most striking thing is the water: a broad, slow river that splits around sandbanks and islands, and whose channels shift from season to season. The town sits a little back from this changeable edge, with streets that line up roughly parallel to the bank.
The surrounding country belongs to Myanmar's central dry zone, a flat, low-rainfall plain of fields, villages and scattered stupas. For a long time Myingyan has served as a river port and market for this farming hinterland, and the roads leaving town fan out across the plain toward smaller settlements, turning a compact centre into a star of routes.
A Myingyan map poster pairs the tight street pattern of the town with the open, sweeping forms of the Irrawaddy beside it. In black and white, the river's braided channels read almost like a drawing in their own right, and the contrast between dense blocks and empty water makes for a calm, balanced composition.

Braided sandbanks
Islands and bars divide the river into several channels, producing soft, elongated shapes that contrast with the straighter lines of the streets on the bank.
Roads across the plain
Routes run outward from the centre over the level dry-zone farmland, linking the town to villages and giving the map a gentle radiating structure.

为什么选Myingyan
一张有意义的地图
It suits someone with family roots along the Irrawaddy, or a traveller who remembers the river crossings of central Myanmar. The print is less about landmarks than about the relationship between a town and a very large river.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a family name or a year, and pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The digital files come in six print sizes at 300 DPI, with no watermark.
