River confluence
The Atbara River flows into the Nile just beside the town. The meeting of the two channels is the most distinctive natural feature on the map.

关于地图
Atbara Map Poster & Print
Atbara stands where the Atbara River joins the Nile in northern Sudan, the last major tributary the Nile receives before reaching the Mediterranean. From above, the two rivers meet at a sharp angle, with a narrow belt of green along their banks and open desert beyond.
The city grew around the railway. Atbara has long been the headquarters of Sudan Railways, and its workshops, yards and tracks take up a large part of the map. The railway workers here also made the town a centre of Sudan's early trade union movement, and it still has a reputation as a working city.
An Atbara map poster shows the grid of the town, the long lines of the rail yards and the confluence of the rivers in a single frame. It is an unusual map, part industrial and part geographical, and it reads clearly in black and white.

Railway yards
Workshops, sidings and tracks of the railway occupy a large part of the city. Their long parallel lines give the map a strong industrial pattern.
Planned grid
Residential districts follow a regular grid of straight streets. The order of the layout contrasts with the curves of the rivers.

为什么选Atbara
一张有意义的地图
Atbara holds a special place for families tied to the railway and for many Sudanese who grew up there. A map of the town and its rivers is a way to hold on to that place, whether you live there now or far away.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line to record a family connection or a date that matters. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
