Taka Mountains
Rounded granite peaks, including Jebel Totil, rise abruptly on the city's eastern edge. On the map they create a striking blank form that anchors the whole composition.

关于地图
Kassala Map Poster & Print
Kassala stands on the flat plains of eastern Sudan, close to the border with Eritrea, and its setting is unusual. Immediately east of the city, a cluster of bare granite peaks, the Taka Mountains, rises steeply from the plain, and on a map it appears as a solid, irregular mass against which the streets simply stop. To the west runs the Gash, a river that flows only part of the year.
The city's street pattern is broad and open, with a central market area and residential quarters extending across the plain. The Gash brings seasonal floods that feed orchards around the town, and Kassala is known within Sudan for its fruit. At the foot of the mountains stands the Khatmiyya mosque, an important centre for one of the country's major Sufi orders.
A Kassala map poster sets down this sharp meeting of plain and rock in clean lines. The streets fill the lower part of the sheet in an even texture, the river adds a softer line, and the mountains form a strong empty shape at the edge of the city. It is a map that holds a very specific horizon.

Gash River
A seasonal river that fills with summer floodwater from the Eritrean highlands, the Gash passes the western side of the city and sustains the surrounding orchards.
Khatmiyya quarter
Around the mosque at the foot of the mountains, the settlement of Khatmiyya forms a distinct cluster where the city's streets press closest to the rock.

为什么选Kassala
一张有意义的地图
For Sudanese families, many now living far from home, Kassala carries a strong sense of place: the mountains on the horizon, the fruit markets, the river in flood. A map of the city keeps that geography present in a calm, simple form.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, including a dedication or a date that matters to your family. Five styles are available, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as print-ready files or a printed matte poster.
