Baqueira-Beret Map Poster & Print
Baqueira-Beret lies in the Val d'Aran in the Catalan Pyrenees, a valley whose waters drain north toward France rather than south into Spain. The resort grew from a small base in the 1960s into one of Spain's largest ski areas, spreading across several sectors on both sides of the upper valley. From above its lifts fan out over wide mountain terrain, with the main village clustered along the valley road.
The Beret sector occupies a broad, open plateau known as the Pla de Beret, where the headwaters of the Garonne rise close to those of the Noguera Pallaresa, which flows the other way toward the Mediterranean. On a Baqueira-Beret map poster the plateau reads as an unusually open space among the peaks, while a separate road climbs out of the valley toward the Bonaigua pass.
The resort has long been associated with the Spanish royal family, who have spent winters here for decades, and it attracts skiers from Barcelona, Madrid and across Europe. Below the lifts, the small Aranese villages keep their stone churches and slate roofs. The map balances these scales, from compact village streets to the broad sweep of pistes and plateau above.

A winding road leaves the valley and climbs toward the pass, linking the Val d'Aran with Pallars. Its switchbacks create one of the most detailed lines on the sheet.
