Ponds and tanks
Many small water bodies punctuate the area. On the poster they appear as solid shapes that give rhythm to an otherwise fine web of lanes.

关于地图
Barjala Map Poster & Print
Barjala is a census town in the western part of Tripura, in India's northeast, a short distance south of the state capital Agartala. The Bangladesh border is never far away in this part of the state. On a map the town is an informal network of lanes, not a planned grid, and it follows older paths between homesteads and fields.
The land around it is low and wet. Scattered ponds and tanks show up as small, sharply defined shapes among the streets. Paddy fields fill the gaps between settlements, and the roads run along slightly higher ground. The result is a patchwork in which built-up areas and water sit side by side at a fine scale.
A Barjala map poster renders that patchwork in clean black and white and turns ponds, lanes and fields into a quiet abstract composition. It is a small place, and the map treats it with the same care as a large city. That care is often what people from such towns value most.

Informal lanes
Streets here grew along existing paths and property lines. The bends, forks and dead ends they produce give a more organic texture than any planned layout.
Paddy land edges
Low cultivated fields surround the settlement, so the built area has soft, irregular edges where housing gradually gives way to open farmland.

为什么选Barjala
一张有意义的地图
For families from Tripura living elsewhere in India or abroad, a map of Barjala is a precise, understated link to home. It avoids the sentimentality of a photograph and still holds every familiar lane in place.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can all be changed, so the poster can mark a birthplace or a wedding date. Choose one of five styles, from Classic black & white to Blueprint or Sand, and download 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files in six sizes.
