The Nile
The river runs past the town and forms the dominant line of the map. On the poster it becomes a wide, calm band along one edge.

关于地图
Bibā Map Poster & Print
Bibā is in Beni Suweif governorate, in Middle Egypt, on the west side of the Nile. From above the Nile Valley here is a narrow strip of irrigated land. The river runs along one side, desert plateaus rise beyond the fields, and the town sits in between.
As in much of the valley, the main railway and the highway between Cairo and Upper Egypt run north to south close to the river. The town has grown in a long band along them. Irrigation canals divide the farmland into small parcels, and villages are strung along the waterways.
The Bibā map poster shows the basic structure of Egyptian valley life. There is water on one side, desert on the other, and a thin, busy stretch of fields and streets in the middle, all running parallel to the river.

Irrigation canals
Canals and channels branch through the farmland and divide it into many small fields. They add fine lines around the town.
Road and rail corridor
The railway and highway run north to south through the valley. They set the long, narrow shape of the built-up area.
