Kwilu River
The broad river curves past the town and defines its shape. On a black and white print it is the strongest element by far.

关于地图
Bulungu Map Poster & Print
Bulungu stands on the Kwilu River in the province of the same name, in the south-west of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The river gives the map its dominant feature, a broad, winding band of water that the town follows along its bank. Behind it, a loose network of streets and tracks spreads out into the surrounding country.
The town is one of the main settlements of Kwilu province and a local centre of trade, with goods and people moving along the river and the roads that connect it to the rest of the region. The landscape around it mixes open savanna with strips of forest along the watercourses.
A Bulungu map poster gives this river town the careful treatment usually reserved for capitals. The water sweeps across the frame, the street network gathers on the bank, and the paths reaching into the countryside fade gradually into open space. It is a modest subject that produces a striking, uncluttered image.

Riverside settlement
Most of the streets gather near the water. The town is oriented along the bank rather than spreading evenly in all directions.
Tracks into the country
Beyond the centre, roads and footpaths lead out into savanna and forest. They thin into single lines at the edge of the map.

为什么选Bulungu
一张有意义的地图
For people from Bulungu or the wider Kwilu region, especially those living far away, a map of the town is a rare and personal object. Few places like it are ever drawn this carefully, which makes the poster feel especially meaningful.
Add a title and subtitle in whichever language you prefer, along with a date or a family name, and choose from five styles. Download the files at 300 DPI to print locally, or order a matte poster from a partner in one of more than thirty countries.
