Compact grid
The town's streets form a small, fairly regular grid, dense at the centre and thinning towards the edges, which makes the settlement easy to read at a glance.

关于地图
Canapi Map Poster & Print
Canapi lies in the western interior of Alagoas, in northeastern Brazil, within the semi-arid region known as the sertão. The town is small and compact: a handful of streets meet near the centre, forming a short grid that quickly gives way to open land. From above, the built-up area appears as a small, dense patch in a wide, dry landscape.
The countryside around Canapi is shaped by the rhythm of dry and rainy seasons. Pastures, small farms and patches of caatinga, the thorny scrub vegetation of the sertão, cover the gently rolling land, and streams that flow only part of the year cross it. Dirt roads link the town to the farms and villages around it.
A Canapi map poster shows the essential outline of a sertão town: a compact centre, a few main roads leaving it, and a broad, open territory beyond. The composition is spare, which suits the landscape, and the long country roads stretching across the print give a sense of the distances people here cover every day.

Country roads
Unpaved roads leave the town in several directions, crossing the open land in long lines that link it to farms and neighbouring communities.
Seasonal streams
Watercourses that fill during the rains wind across the surrounding land, adding soft, irregular lines to the print between the straighter roads.

为什么选Canapi
一张有意义的地图
Many people from the sertão of Alagoas now live in Maceió, Recife or São Paulo. A map of Canapi is a way to keep the home town present, and its simple, open layout works well in a contemporary apartment as well as a family home.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can be personalised with a family name or an important date. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, and download HD files for $9 or order a printed poster on matte paper.
