The isthmus
The centre of Ceuta sits on a thin strip of land between two bays, so the streets on the poster appear tightly held between parallel lines of coast.

关于地图
Ceuta Map Poster & Print
Ceuta is a Spanish autonomous city on the north coast of Africa, bordering Morocco and facing the Strait of Gibraltar. Its outline is among the most distinctive on any map. A slender isthmus with water on both sides widens at its eastern end into the hilly peninsula of Monte Hacho, which is topped by an old fortress.
The old centre occupies the isthmus itself, with streets pressed between the port on the northern bay and the southern shore. At the landward end stand the Royal Walls, cut through by a moat that boats can pass, so the centre is technically separated from the mainland by water. Newer districts spread west over the hills toward the Moroccan border.
A Ceuta map poster shows how much of the city is defined by the sea. The harbour breakwaters, the curve of the bays and the steep contours of Monte Hacho frame a dense urban core, and the whole composition reads like a coastal chart. Monte Hacho is also one of the sites proposed as a Pillar of Hercules.

Royal Walls and moat
At the western end of the old town, the Royal Walls and the San Felipe moat cut across the isthmus, a short straight channel linking the two shores.
Monte Hacho
The rounded peninsula at the eastern tip rises steeply from the sea. Its winding roads and fortress give the end of the map a strong, compact form.

为什么选Ceuta
一张有意义的地图
Ceuta draws people with ties on both sides of the strait, from families who have lived there for generations to those who served or worked there. Its unusual shape between Europe and Africa makes it a map people recognise at a glance.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose among five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint suits the city's maritime character. Buy the 300 DPI files for $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
