Branching road network
Narrow roads wind along ridges and down to valleys, forming a web of curving lines that dominates the poster in place of a single grid.

关于地图
Chekkiād Map Poster & Print
Chekkiād is a village panchayat in Kozhikode district, in the northern part of Kerala, set in the rolling midland country between the coast and the Western Ghats. From above there is no single dense centre. Instead, houses and gardens are spread across the landscape, linked by narrow roads that follow ridges and valleys.
This dispersed pattern is typical of rural Kerala, where settlements blend into coconut groves, areca plantations and paddy land rather than forming compact towns. On a map the result is a web of winding lines, thickening at junctions where shops and small markets gather, and opening into lower, flatter ground where fields and streams run.
A Chekkiād map poster reflects this distinctive landscape. Its beauty lies in the branching road network and the gentle relief it follows, a pattern that feels organic and intricate at once. For Keralites living in the Gulf or elsewhere in India, it is an intimate portrait of home, drawn from the roads they know.

Dispersed homesteads
Houses are spread widely among gardens and plantations, so the built-up area appears as a loose scatter across the whole map.
Valley lowlands
Lower, flatter ground between the hills holds fields and streams, giving the map quieter open areas between the denser roads.

为什么选Chekkiād
一张有意义的地图
Many families from northern Kerala live and work far from home, and a map of Chekkiād is a meaningful piece for a flat in Dubai, Bengaluru or London. It shows the roads to the house, the junction, and the familiar countryside.
You can edit the title, add a subtitle such as a house name, and adjust the coordinates, including text in Malayalam. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
