Branching lanes
Small roads split off the main routes and wind between plots. The pattern looks more like a network of veins than a street grid.

关于地图
Chengamanād Map Poster & Print
Chengamanād is in Ernakulam district in central Kerala, in the low, wet country inland from Kochi. Its map does not look like a compact town. Houses and lanes are spread out among trees and cultivated plots, and roads follow the higher, drier ground instead of a planned grid.
That gives the linework an organic, branching look. Main roads carry most of the traffic, and narrow lanes break off them and bend around gardens and fields. Streams and water channels cross the area, which is typical of this part of Kerala, where water is never far away and settlement tends to follow it.
A Chengamanād map poster turns this pattern into a delicate print. The lines are thin and fine, and there are no dense blocks. The result looks almost like a leaf's veins. It suits people who know the place well, because it shows the real network of roads that connects homes, temples, churches and markets across the district.

Water in the landscape
Streams and channels run through the area, as they do across central Kerala. On the poster, these are the soft curves among the roads.
Spread-out settlement
No single dense centre dominates. Homes are scattered along the roads among green space, so the map has an even texture from edge to edge.

为什么选Chengamanād
一张有意义的地图
Many families in Kerala have ties to places like Chengamanād that no ordinary map shows well. A poster of these lanes is a personal piece: a gift for someone who has moved abroad, or a record of the house they grew up in.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name or a wedding date. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as a $9 set of digital files or a printed matte poster.
