Branching lanes
Narrow roads split and curve between house plots and gardens. They form a fine, irregular network that makes the poster detailed and textured without a regular grid.

关于地图
Edattala Map Poster & Print
Edattala lies in Ernakulam district in central Kerala, on the eastern edge of the Kochi urban area near Aluva. As in much of Kerala, there is no sharp line between town and countryside. From above, houses stand in their own gardens along lanes that curve between palms, small ponds and patches of paddy.
The road pattern grew naturally rather than being planned. A few main roads link Edattala with Aluva and neighbouring towns, and narrower lanes branch off to reach scattered neighbourhoods. In black and white this becomes a fine, branching network, closer to the veins of a leaf than to a grid.
The Periyar, Kerala's longest river, flows through the wider area around Aluva, and water is never far away in this landscape. An Edattala map poster suits a place like this. It records a quiet, very green area as a pattern of lanes and plots, where every turning is part of someone's daily route.

Main road links
A few wider roads cross the area and connect it with Aluva and the rest of the Kochi region. They are the strongest lines on the map.
Water and green
Ponds, streams and open patches between houses break up the built-up area. They reflect how closely settlement and landscape are woven together in this part of Kerala.
