Érd Map Poster
Érd lies just south of Budapest in Pest County, on the right bank of the Danube. It is one of the largest towns in the county, yet it grew mostly as a place of family houses and gardens rather than apartment blocks. From above it looks like a wide, fine-grained mesh of streets spreading over the hills, broken by vineyards, woods and valleys.
Along the river a high loess bank rises above the water, one of the notable natural features of the area. In the old centre stands a minaret from the Ottoman period, one of only a few surviving in Hungary, and the town is home to the Hungarian Geographical Museum, a fitting detail for a place best appreciated on a map.
An Érd map poster shows a town of remarkable scale for its density: thousands of small plots, narrow lanes and curving roads that follow the terrain. The Danube frames it on one side and the motorways toward Budapest and Lake Balaton cross it on the other, giving the composition a clear structure.
