Town grid
The centre is a close pattern of blocks and squares. It looks especially crisp in black and white because the land around it is so open.

关于地图
Euclides da Cunha Map Poster & Print
Euclides da Cunha lies in the semi-arid sertão of northeastern Bahia, and its name honours the writer of Os Sertões, the classic account of the Canudos war, which took place in this part of the state. The town's streets form a compact, fairly regular grid that stands out clearly against the sparse land around it.
The BR-116 highway, one of Brazil's longest north–south routes, runs past the town and gives the map a strong straight axis. Smaller roads branch off toward nearby communities, and outside the built-up area the terrain is dry scrub, with small reservoirs and seasonal streams scattered across it.
A Euclides da Cunha map poster pairs a literary name with a very graphic layout: an ordered town, a long highway and a lot of open ground. It shows the scale of the sertão, where settlements look small and deliberate against the empty land around them.

Sertão surroundings
Dry scrubland, small reservoirs and seasonal watercourses fill the edges of the map, marks of the semi-arid backcountry that made the region famous in literature.
