The reservoir
The açude's branching, irregular shoreline stands out sharply against the dry land around it, giving the poster its most organic and recognisable shape.

关于地图
Forquilha Map Poster & Print
Forquilha is a municipality in the north of Ceará, in Brazil's semi-arid sertão, a short distance from the regional centre of Sobral. Its name means fork in Portuguese. From above, the town appears as a compact cluster of streets in a wide landscape of caatinga scrub, farmland and dirt roads, where water shapes everything else.
The most striking element on the map is the Forquilha reservoir, an açude built to store water through the long dry season, whose irregular shoreline spreads across the land near town. Reservoirs like this are central to life in the sertão. They supply water for homes and farming, and in wet years they transform the surrounding landscape.
A Forquilha map poster sets the tight grid of the town against the loose outline of the water and the thin tracks crossing the dry country. It suits people from the Sobral region, especially those who left for Fortaleza or further south and still think of the sertão as home.

Town grid
The centre of Forquilha is laid out in regular blocks around its main streets, a compact and orderly cluster in the middle of the plain.
Sertão tracks
Beyond town, unpaved roads and paths run across the caatinga, connecting farms and villages in long, thin lines that fade toward the edge.

为什么选Forquilha
一张有意义的地图
The sertão leaves a deep impression on those who grow up there, and Forquilha is no exception. A clean map of the town and its reservoir keeps that landscape in view from far away.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a name, a year or a phrase in Portuguese, and adjust the coordinates line. Five styles are available, and Sand suits the dry landscape especially well. Choose $9 digital files or a printed matte poster.
