Main road through town
The town lines up along its main road. On the poster this gives a clear spine that the smaller streets and market area attach to.

关于地图
Garba Tula Map Poster & Print
Garba Tula lies east of Isiolo in the semi-arid country of northern Kenya. On a map it is a small cluster of streets surrounded by a great deal of open space: scrubland, grazing land and dry riverbeds that carry water only after rain. It is the administrative centre of its sub-county, and most of the layout sits along the main road and around the market.
The surrounding area is pastoralist land, home mostly to Borana communities who herd cattle, camels and goats across the rangelands. Water shapes life here more than anything else, and the courses of seasonal streams and the locations of wells matter as much as any road. Community conservancies in the wider county also place the area within Kenya's northern wildlife landscape.
A Garba Tula map poster is mostly space, and that is the point. A handful of streets, the tracks leaving town in different directions and the faint lines of dry watercourses make a sparse, almost abstract print that says a lot about the land around it.

Seasonal watercourses
Dry riverbeds wind across the surrounding land and fill only after rain. On the map they show as delicate lines that break up the open ground.
Open rangeland
Wide grazing country surrounds the town. It fills the print with pale space and makes the small built-up area feel exact and deliberate.

为什么选Garba Tula
一张有意义的地图
This map is for people who know northern Kenya as home, as a workplace or as a place they have spent time in. Its emptiness is honest, and it records a town that most maps show only as a dot.
Choose a title, a subtitle such as a year or a family name, and the coordinates line. Sand and Paper styles suit the dry landscape especially well. A free watermarked preview lets you check the layout before buying the $9 download or a printed poster.
