Leie and Scheldt
The two rivers join in the old centre, their channels looping around blocks of houses so that water appears on almost every part of the inner map.

关于地图
Gent Map Poster & Print
Gent grew where the Leie flows into the Scheldt, and the water still organises the map. Arms of river and canal wind through the centre, splitting it into islands and quays, while later cuts and docks push north toward the port. Around it all, the R40 ring road draws a rough loop that marks the edge of the historic city.
Inside that loop are the Graslei and Korenlei, two facing quays of guild houses, the Gravensteen castle, the belfry and St Bavo's Cathedral, which holds the Van Eyck brothers' Ghent Altarpiece. In the Middle Ages the cloth trade made Gent one of the largest cities north of the Alps, and the density of the old street plan still reflects that.
A Gent map poster captures the contrast between the tangle of the centre and the long straight lines of the canal that runs north to Terneuzen and the sea. The city is also a large university town, and student districts, parks and the Blaarmeersen recreation lake fill the south and west with open shapes.

The R40 ring
A ring boulevard encloses the historic city, a clear line separating the medieval street pattern from the nineteenth-century districts and suburbs beyond it.
Port canal
The Ghent–Terneuzen canal heads north in a nearly straight line, lined with docks and basins that contrast sharply with the curves of the old waterways.

为什么选Gent
一张有意义的地图
Gent tends to belong to people who studied there, got married beside the canals or keep returning for the Gentse Feesten. The map works as a quiet reminder of a very walkable city, with its water lines doing most of the visual work.
Add names, a date or your own subtitle, adjust the coordinates line, and pick one of five styles, from Classic black & white to Blueprint. Download six print sizes as 300 DPI PNG and PDF files for $9, or order a matte print.
