The Alhambra
The fortified palace complex occupies a long, narrow ridge above the city. Its walls and gardens form a distinctive elongated shape on the map, separated from the streets below by wooded slopes.

关于地图
Granada Map Poster & Print
Granada spreads at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, where the Darro River meets the Genil. From above, two hills dominate the eastern side of the city. One is the Sabika hill, crowned by the long walled enclosure of the Alhambra. The other is the Albaicín, whose steep, twisting lanes preserve the plan of the medieval Moorish quarter.
Granada was the last Muslim kingdom on the Iberian Peninsula and fell to the Catholic Monarchs in 1492. The Alhambra and Generalife palaces and the Albaicín are listed together as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Below them, the cathedral, the Gran Vía de Colón and the flatter modern districts stretch west toward the plain known as the Vega.
A Granada map poster captures a striking contrast. On the eastern hills, the dense, irregular web of the Albaicín and the long outline of the Alhambra dominate. To the west, the streets straighten and open into the broader, more regular pattern of the modern city.

Albaicín lanes
Opposite the Alhambra, the Albaicín climbs its hill in a tangle of narrow, winding streets. It is one of the most intricate street patterns in Spain and very striking in fine line.
Darro valley
The small Darro River runs in a narrow valley between the two hills before disappearing beneath the city centre. Its path explains the sharp division in the map's eastern half.
