Planned block rows
The residential blocks repeat in regular patterns along straight streets. The effect on the poster is almost architectural, like a site plan.

关于地图
Guará Map Poster & Print
Guará is an administrative region of the Federal District, just southwest of Brasília's central Plano Piloto. From above, it is clearly a planned place. Rows of residential blocks are arranged in regular groups and separated by straight avenues. Main roads frame the district, and green strips and parks run between the built-up areas.
The district was established in the late 1960s, in the early years of Brasília's growth, to house workers building the new capital. Like many satellite towns, it follows the modernist idea of planned neighbourhood units. Its closeness to the central city makes it one of the more integrated districts, with good road links to the government area.
A Guará map poster brings out the geometry of planned Brazil. The repeated blocks and straight avenues look almost like a diagram, softened by the parkland around them. For people who live here or grew up in the Federal District, it is an accurate portrait of a neighbourhood built as part of the capital's plan.

Framing highways
Wide roads run around and through the district, connecting it to the Plano Piloto and other regions. They give the map strong edges.
Green strips
Parks and open land lie between neighbourhoods. On the map they create breathing space between the dense blocks.

为什么选Guará
一张有意义的地图
Guará is a real neighbourhood with its own identity inside Brasília. For residents, this map shows the specific quadras they know. For architecture fans, it is an interesting example of modernist planning.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a quadra number or a date. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The HD files are $9, and printed posters ship from local partners.
