关于地图
Samambaia Map Poster & Print
Samambaia is one of the administrative regions of Brazil's Federal District, southwest of the central Plano Piloto of Brasília. It was planned in the 1980s to house the rapidly growing population of the capital area, and the map makes its planned origin obvious. The city is elongated, with long avenues running parallel through its length and residential blocks arranged in repeated modules on either side.
Unlike the curved wings of Brasília's famous plan, Samambaia is almost entirely rectilinear. Blocks are numbered rather than named, commercial strips line the main avenues, and green spaces and a stream valley run along its edges. The Federal District metro reaches the city, with Samambaia serving as one of the terminal stations.
A Samambaia map poster shows this order clearly: parallel bands of streets, a regular rhythm of blocks and the strong, straight lines of the main roads, set against the looser forms of the surrounding land. It is a map that reflects the ambitions of Brazilian urban planning on a clear and human scale.

Modular blocks
The housing areas are organised into repeated, numbered blocks, creating a fine and uniform texture that fills most of the map.
Metro terminus
The metro line from central Brasília ends in Samambaia, and its route along the main axis connects the satellite city directly to the capital.

为什么选Samambaia
一张有意义的地图
Samambaia is the neighbourhood many families in the Federal District grew up in, block by block. A map of its orderly streets turns a familiar address into a clean graphic piece for the wall.
Add your block number, a family name or a date as the title and subtitle, and set the coordinates. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and print it yourself or order a finished poster.
