关于地图
Gus’-Khrustal’nyy Map Poster & Print
Gus’-Khrustal’nyy lies in the south of Vladimir Oblast, in the low, forested Meshchera region east of Moscow. The town is set along the Gus River, which runs through it from north to south, with a reservoir and wide water surfaces near the centre. On the map, the river and its green banks divide the town into two unequal halves.
The town grew around the glassworks founded here in the eighteenth century by the Maltsov family, and the older streets near the factory form a relatively regular grid. Newer districts extend outward in larger blocks, and the whole town is surrounded by dense forest and marshy land, which gives it a sharply defined edge.
The town's name refers to crystal, and it remains closely associated with Russian glassmaking. A former cathedral in the centre now houses a museum of crystal. A Gus’-Khrustal’nyy map poster shows a factory town in a forest setting, with the river and reservoir at its centre and a clear boundary between streets and woodland.

Factory-town grid
The older streets near the glassworks follow a fairly regular pattern, typical of towns laid out around industrial sites in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
Meshchera forest edge
Beyond the town the map fills with forest and wetland, so the streets appear as a compact island inside a wide, unbroken green landscape.
