Organic street pattern
Instead of blocks and avenues, the map is drawn by winding roads and paths that follow the lie of the land and connect scattered homes and plots.

关于地图
Hyosha Map Poster & Print
Hyosha lies in the north of North Kivu province in eastern DR Congo, just north of the equator. The surrounding country is green and hilly, with small farms, stands of forest and a dense network of paths linking one community to the next. On a map the settlement appears as a loose cluster of streets and tracks rather than a formal grid.
This part of the Congo belongs to the wider region that includes the Rwenzori Mountains and Virunga National Park, one of the most biodiverse landscapes in Africa. Life here is closely tied to farming and to trade along the main roads, and settlements have grown along ridges and routes rather than following a planned layout.
A Hyosha map poster is a portrait of a place that is rarely drawn. The lines are finer and more irregular than in a city map, following footpaths, streams and field boundaries. For anyone with a personal connection to this part of North Kivu, it offers a simple, dignified record of home.

Upland terrain
The settlement sits in rolling highland country, and its routes bend around slopes and valleys, giving the composition a gentle, flowing character.
Near the equator
At just under a degree north of the equator, Hyosha's coordinates line makes a quietly striking detail on a personalised print of the town.

为什么选Hyosha
一张有意义的地图
People from North Kivu living in Goma, Kinshasa or abroad often have few images of the places they come from. A clean map of Hyosha is a way to put home on the wall, or to give it to a relative.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for instance with a family name or a date, and pick from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Start with the free 900 px preview, then choose the $9 HD files or a printed poster.
