Canal network
Irrigation channels fan out across the surrounding land, running alongside roads and field edges, and they give the print its fine, repeating lines and much of its character.

关于地图
Iţsā Map Poster & Print
Iţsā is a town in Egypt's Faiyum Governorate, the broad depression west of the Nile valley that has been irrigated and farmed since antiquity. Water reaches the Faiyum through the Bahr Yusuf and is spread across the basin by a branching system of canals. On the map, that system is the dominant feature: thin lines of water and the roads that run beside them divide the land into narrow parcels.
The town itself appears as a dense knot of streets within this agricultural pattern. Its core is tightly packed, with short lanes and small blocks, and it spreads outward along the roads and waterways that connect it to Faiyum city and the surrounding villages. Beyond the built edge the fields take over, their geometry quite unlike the tight grain of the town.
An Iţsā map poster shows how closely settlement and irrigation are tied together in the Faiyum. The contrast between the compact town and the linear canals gives the print a strong texture, part street map and part field diagram. It is a fitting piece for people from the town, or for anyone drawn to the old agricultural landscapes of Middle Egypt.

Compact town core
The centre is a tight cluster of short streets and small blocks, forming a dark, dense mass on the print against the open farmland that surrounds it.
Links across the basin
Roads leaving town follow the canals toward Faiyum city and nearby villages, tracing the routes that connect one farming community to the next across the depression.
