Medjerda valley
The town sits on the wide, flat floodplain of the Medjerda, and the map's open space mostly comes from the farmland this river has made so productive.

关于地图
Jendouba Map Poster & Print
Jendouba lies in the valley of the Medjerda, Tunisia's longest river, in the green northwest of the country. The river and its tributaries have made this one of the most fertile plains in North Africa, and the map shows it clearly. A compact town centre is surrounded by an open patchwork of fields, with roads running straight across the flat land toward the hills on the horizon.
The town is the capital of its governorate and a practical base for two notable ancient sites. Bulla Regia, a short distance to the north, is known for Roman villas built partly underground to escape the summer heat. Chemtou, to the west, was the source of a prized yellow marble shipped around the Roman world. Both belong to the same valley that frames the town today.
On a Jendouba map poster the town's regular blocks are set against the looser lines of watercourses and farm tracks. It is an unshowy composition that works well in black and white, because the contrast between the dense centre and the wide agricultural plain around it does most of the visual work.

Straight approach roads
Roads cross the plain in long, direct lines toward neighbouring towns, meeting at the compact centre like spokes pulled slightly out of shape.
Ancient neighbours
Bulla Regia and Chemtou sit in the surrounding countryside. They are a reminder that this plain was settled and farmed well before the modern street plan appeared.

为什么选Jendouba
一张有意义的地图
A Jendouba map suits people with ties to northwestern Tunisia, and travellers who came through on their way to Bulla Regia or the Kroumirie hills. It is a restrained print that suggests a whole region, the river plain and its farms, through one small town at its centre.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, in Latin script or with a line that means something to you. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The $9 digital download includes six print sizes, or order a matte printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
