Kakkodi is a town in Kozhikode District in northern Kerala, a short distance inland from the city of Kozhikode on the Malabar coast. Like much of this part of Kerala, it does not have a single dense centre; houses and small clusters spread out along roads and lanes through a landscape of coconut palms and cultivated land.
On a map, that settlement pattern appears as a fine web of winding roads rather than a grid. Low ground, fields and watercourses break up the network, and the streets curve to follow higher ground, giving the whole area a soft, organic look.
