Narrow roads and footpaths wind between house plots and groves, forming an irregular mesh that covers most of the map rather than one central core.

关于地图
Kārakkād Map Poster & Print
Kārakkād is a settlement in central Kerala, set in the low, green country that lies between the coast and the Western Ghats. Like much of this part of the state, it does not form a compact town in the usual sense: homes, shops and places of worship are spread along roads and lanes, each surrounded by its own garden plot.
On a map this creates a distinctive, lace-like pattern. Roads branch and curve around gentle rises of higher ground, paddy fields occupy the flatter, lower land as open spaces, and ponds and small streams appear as scattered marks. There is no single grid, only a dense web of paths that has grown slowly around farming and daily life.
A Kārakkād map poster suits those who know the place from the inside, where each junction and bend has a name and a story. Because the pattern is so fine, it shows best at medium and large print sizes, where individual lanes and the edges of the fields remain clearly readable.

Paddy lowlands
Flat rice fields in the lower ground show as open, quiet areas, often edged by roads that follow the slightly higher land around them.
Ponds and streams
Small bodies of water and seasonal channels are dotted across the landscape, typical of Kerala's rain-fed countryside and clear in fine linework.

为什么选Kārakkād
一张有意义的地图
For Malayali families working in the Gulf, in other Indian cities or further abroad, a map of Kārakkād is a small, steady link to the home place: the road to the temple or church, the junction, the field beside the house.
Write the place name in the title, a family house name or a date in the subtitle, and adjust the coordinates. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as instant HD files or as a printed poster on matte paper.
