The town pond
A dammed pond sits at the heart of the town, and its irregular outline is the strongest shape on the map, with streets arranged along its shores.

关于地图
Kirovgrad Map Poster & Print
Kirovgrad lies in the Middle Urals of Sverdlovsk Oblast, north-west of Yekaterinburg. Like many Ural factory towns, it grew around a pond created by damming a small river, and on the map the water forms the centre of the composition. Streets spread along its shores and up the surrounding slopes, with forest pressing in on all sides.
The town developed around copper mining and smelting in the early twentieth century and was known as Kalata before being renamed in the 1930s. The copper smelter remains its main industry, and the large industrial site is clearly visible in the town plan. Residential districts combine small wooden houses on older streets with later apartment blocks in regular rows.
A Kirovgrad map poster shows the classic Ural arrangement of pond, works and town in one frame. It is a map for people with family in the region or a history in its industry, and for anyone interested in how mining towns shaped the landscape of the Urals.

Smelter works
The copper smelter occupies a large industrial area whose broad plots and rail lines contrast clearly with the finer grain of the residential streets.
Mixed housing districts
Older streets of small houses meet regular rows of later apartment blocks, giving the map two distinct textures side by side.

为什么选Kirovgrad
一张有意义的地图
Ural factory towns carry strong family memories, of parents who worked at the plant or summers spent by the pond. A clean map of Kirovgrad preserves that relationship between town, water and industry in a simple, lasting form.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a family name or the years someone worked there, and edit the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Download six print sizes for $9 or order a printed poster.
