Village clusters
Settlements string out along the main roads in narrow bands. The poster shows lines of small, dense streets separated by open land rather than one solid town.

关于地图
Kresek Map Poster & Print
Kresek lies in the flat lowlands of the Tangerang area, west of Jakarta, where the metropolitan sprawl gives way to villages and rice fields. Its map is less a single town than a spread of settlements: clusters of houses and small roads along a few main routes, separated by open paddies and by rivers winding north toward the coast.
It is mainly a rural and semi-rural area, with a market centre serving the surrounding villages. As Greater Jakarta has expanded westward, new roads and housing have begun to reach the district. Much of the land is still given over to rice and other crops, and the pace is noticeably slower than in the city to the east.
A Kresek map poster shows this in-between landscape clearly: the village clusters along the roads, the market area where lines tighten, and the broad field patterns that fill the space between. It is a personal keepsake for families from the district, many of whom now live and work elsewhere in Java.

Paddy fields
Wide areas of cultivated land surround the villages. Their quiet empty space and fine field tracks give the composition room to breathe.
Northward rivers
Rivers and irrigation channels cross the lowland on their way to the Java Sea. They are drawn as soft, meandering lines among the straighter roads.

为什么选Kresek
一张有意义的地图
For families with roots in Kresek, a map of the district holds on to the village streets and fields while the region around Jakarta keeps changing. It is simple and personal, and unlike any mass-produced print you could buy in a shop.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates with a family name, a village or a date, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Download the $9 HD files, or order a printed poster on matte paper.
