关于地图
Lukhovitsy Map Poster & Print
Lukhovitsy lies in the south-east of Moscow Oblast, near the Oka River, one of central Russia's main waterways. The river winds broadly across its floodplain south of town, with meadows, oxbow lakes and old channels on either side. On the map, this loose, curving landscape contrasts with the straighter lines of the town, the railway and the roads.
The town grew along the railway line to Ryazan and developed a mix of housing and industry. It is home to an aircraft plant associated with MiG, and it is also known across Russia for its cucumbers. The fields and greenhouses around the town have made the name a byword for them, and the town hosts a cucumber festival.
A Lukhovitsy map poster brings together the town's grid, the railway corridor and the soft meanders of the Oka. Rendered in black and white, the floodplain's lakes and channels become an intricate pattern at the edge of the frame. It is a calm, detailed portrait of a working river town.
