Central grid
Streets around the main square form a tidy, regular grid, the classic layout for towns on the Sabana. It appears as a dense block of lines at the heart of the map.

关于地图
Madrid Map Poster & Print
Madrid, in the department of Cundinamarca, sits on the Sabana de Bogotá, the high Andean plateau around Colombia's capital, at roughly 2,550 metres above sea level. The town lies west of Bogotá on the road toward Facatativá. From above it forms a compact grid of blocks around a central plaza, set in almost perfectly level country.
The surrounding plain is one of the centres of Colombia's cut-flower industry, and large greenhouses in long, regular rows cover the land around Madrid. On a map they show up as rectangular parcels between rural roads, forming a patterned field around the town. Newer housing on the edges has pushed the grid outward, so the town has a clear core with rings of growth around it.
A Madrid map poster shows a Colombian highland town at human scale: the plaza and its blocks, the growing neighbourhoods on the edges and the long roads across the Sabana. It also carries a small twist of recognition, a Madrid that is not in Spain, which makes it a good conversation piece on a wall.

Greenhouse fields
Beyond the built-up area, rectangular parcels of flower greenhouses and pasture spread across the plain and give the outskirts a crisp, patchwork geometry.
Road to Bogotá
The main road east runs straight across the level Sabana toward Mosquera and Bogotá. It is a long line that ties the town to the capital.

为什么选Madrid
一张有意义的地图
Madrid appeals to people who live or grew up in this part of Cundinamarca, to those who work on the flower farms, and to anyone who likes the idea of a second Madrid. The poster gives a modest town the clarity of a proper city map.
You can set the title to Madrid, Cundinamarca or anything you prefer, add a subtitle and edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Then order a matte print with an optional frame, or the $9 HD download.
