Mālvan Map Poster
Mālvan is a coastal town in the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra, on the Konkan coast of the Arabian Sea. On the map it is a narrow settlement pressed between the shoreline and low, green hills inland. Lanes run parallel to the sea, and small streets cross down toward the beach and the harbour where fishing boats are moored.
Just offshore lies Sindhudurg Fort, built in the 1660s under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on a rocky island. Its irregular walls are clearly visible in plan, a closed outline surrounded by water, and it gave its name to the whole district. Further south, near Tarkarli, the Karli river widens into an estuary before meeting the sea.
The town is also known for Malvani cuisine, built around coconut, fish and kokum. A Mālvan map poster shows a place defined by its edge: the fine grain of streets on land, the empty expanse of sea, and the fort sitting between them as a small, solid form that anchors the whole composition.

Konkan shoreline
The coast forms a long, gentle edge along the west of the map. Beaches, rocks and the harbour give it small irregularities that read well in fine black line.
Karli estuary
South of the town the Karli river opens into an estuary near Tarkarli, adding channels, sandbars and a second body of water to the lower part of the map.
