Ridge roads
Main roads follow the higher laterite ground, with houses lining both sides. They form winding lines that tie the area together on the map.

关于地图
Māniyūr Map Poster & Print
Māniyūr is a village area in the Kozhikode district of Kerala, inland from the coast near Vadakara on the Malabar side of the state. Like much of rural north Kerala, it has no single dense core. Its map shows houses spread across the landscape among coconut and areca gardens, with roads running along higher ground and between low-lying fields.
The terrain mixes laterite hills with flat, water-fed valleys that were traditionally farmed for rice. From above, this creates branching lowlands with houses lining their edges. Streams, ponds and temple tanks appear across the area, and rivers and backwaters are never far away along this stretch of coast.
A Māniyūr map poster shows a very different idea of a settlement from a town grid. Roads follow the ridges, houses gather along them, and the valleys stay open. The pattern is organic and evenly spread, and it makes a gentle, detailed print with a strong sense of place.

Valley fields
Low, flat valleys between the ridges have long been farmed. They appear as open, branching spaces that separate clusters of homes.
Scattered homes
Instead of a dense centre, homes are spread across the landscape among gardens and trees. This gives the map an even, finely textured look.

为什么选Māniyūr
一张有意义的地图
Many families from Malabar live abroad, and a map of Māniyūr is a lasting reminder of home. It suits a living room or a gift for parents, and its soft, spread-out pattern suits the warm Sand and Paper styles especially well.
Set your own title and subtitle, including a house name, family name or date, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download six print sizes for $9 or order a printed poster.
